Bawsey Country Park Fishing

Brickyard Lake was recently opened to the public for fishing and is hidden away on the Bawsey Estate & Country Park just outside King’s Lynn, West Norfolk in beautiful surroundings. (Previously known as Bawsey Pits)

With depths up to 15ft and containing a good stock of fish including Carp up to 15lb, Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Pike it’s certainly got a little something for every angler. There’s a lot still to be discovered about this lake and the team are sure there will be some fantastic carp in there that have never seen a hook or been caught before probably much larger than the 15lbs test fishing sessions have produced.

The lake is not set up exclusively as a fishery and, at certain times, other activities will be taking place.

Fishery Rules

• Fishing is strictly by pre-booked permit only through Lake Bookings. Do not arrive without a ticket.

• All anglers must be in possession of a valid EA fishing license.

• Anglers fish at their own risk. The owner accepts no responsibility for any injury to anglers, or theft/damage to anglers’ property.

• Fishing can be done from any position that is safely accessible – this includes stalking.

• A maximum of 2 rods per angler and rods must not be left unattended at any time or for any reason.

• An appropriate landing net and unhooking mat must always be used.

• Braided main lines or shock leaders are banned.

• Micro-barbed hooks only.

• We reserve the right to conduct rig checks at any point.

• All particle baits, apart from sweet corn, hemp and carp pellets are banned, no trout pellets, peas, beans, nuts.

• No fish to be retained in a keepnet or carp sack at any time, all fish to be returned to the water immediately after capture and photographing.

• Floating baits are permitted if care is taken not to endanger wildlife.

• The use of bait boats or any similar device is banned.

• When returning fish to the water do not carry any fish without the use of a sling, zipped unhooking mat or landing net.

• All fish to be returned to the lake. Anyone found killing fish and/or removing fish will be prosecuted.

• Strictly no fires and the use of BBQ’s is banned.

• Swimming and paddling is prohibited. Please DO NOT go in the water.

• Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

• Take all litter, discarded line and unused bait home or place in the waste bins provided.

• Any infringement of the rules will result in you being asked to leave the fishery immediately, without refund, and you may face a ban.

• These rules are in place to ensure that all anglers can have an enjoyable, safe experience, whilst safeguarding the welfare of our fish. We will not tolerate anti-social, abusive behaviour, excessive consumption of alcohol or loud music. Any person demonstrating such behaviour will be asked to leave the fishery with no refund. We reserve the right to remove any angler/person without prior notice.

Booking Information

There is a 10-minute walk from the car park to Brickyard Lake partly across sandy ground.

When booking please include your car registration number so we can add you to our system to negate a parking charge.

Currently night fishing is not possible and we ask that you leave the park before 8pm.
