At 7.5 acres, the Specimen Pool has 12 well-spaced pegs which are all on one bank, and much of the far bank is protected by tree cover and snags.

All the pegs are clearly marked, purpose-built, and finished with bark and chip.

The fish stocks in the Specimen Pool are mainly common and mirror Carp with weights into the late 20s, we have yet to break the elusive 30lb barrier but hope to this season.

We have removed many of the bream and silverfish to give the carp more nutrients and food to grow on, and the result has been more consistent catches and bigger fish! The average carp is between 15 and 20lb, we do have some very interesting Koi and Ghosts which are in the same weight bracket. We also have many Pike as well as Tench, Roach and Crucians.

Tickets are sold in 24 hour sessions from 2pm daily.

Single pegs charged at £50 per 24 hours.

Double Pegs to be fished by 2 anglers and are priced at £100 per 24 hours

It is possible to add multiple pegs to your basket at the same time if you wish to make a group booking.

Rules:

These are in place to protect the fish, fishery and other anglers.

1….Unhooking mats or cradles and landing nets are compulsory, per person even if fishing a double peg, it has to be each angler, please don’t turn up without these or it will be a wasted trip for yourselves. All fish to be returned in a sling or net. All anglers to carry carp care and use, not just at winterley. Please keep water at hand to keep the fish wet.

2….There is no leaving rods unattended, and be careful when snag fishing.

3….There is now strictly no guests, that’s walking round having a look or seeing your mate for a brew or female guests. Anglers who are fishing only at present past the car park gates.

4….No dogs, fires, air pistols

5….barbless hooks ONLY, Leadcore or tubing is fine.

3 rods on specimen pool and 2 rods match pool.

Gates are locked and only anglers who have booked and paid will have the correct gate code combination to enter the fishery.

Enjoyed my 48hrs at Winterly pool this weekend

Amazing lake previous adventures have had me carp to 28lb. Marks a top bailiff and a best mate keep it up bud and let’s make this place one of the best in the country

Quality Water, Well spaced out swims, quality fish. Bailiff seems like a top guy. Will 100% be returning had x3 Carp to 23lb 06oz. My mate blanked but still enjoyed his stay. Thanks Winterley!
